Shadow Finders

The pieces were developed looking at the interaction between materials and light, together with a group of children from a London-based nursery.

Following the Reggio Emilia Approach principles around the use of many different media to allow children freedom of expression and creativity, a variety of materials’ combinations and surfaces has been used to produce a series of interactive effects, both on the tactile and visual side.

All the pieces have been woven on a warp of raw linen and silk organzine to create contrast between the materials’ qualities, and allow each piece to become a tool for a new dialogue between light and shadow.
